The Walking Project

My name is Aidan. I am 7 years old and I'm a first grade student at East Cooper Montessori School in Mt Pleasant, SC. At my school we do a year long peace project to help our community. I call my idea "The Walking Project". My twin brother and I are going to walk the children's event of the Charleston Marathon to raise money for the MUSC Chidren's Hospital NICU (Neonatal intensive care unit). When I was a baby, I was at the NICU for a few days and I would like to help the babies that are having a hard time.

We Finished!!! I have collected all my money and I am going to take it Downtown to MUSC this week. I am going to continue walking and running.

12/27/2010 We walked 1.5 miles in Portland. We saw Mt Hood (but not on the walk!)

12/18/2010 We walked 2.5 miles along Coleman Blvd, past Shem Creek. We saw dolphins.

9_29_10 Today we walked downtown on King St.and we walked through the Charleston Place hotel because it was pouring with rain P.S.There are 28 steps on the big hotel staircase!

09/27/2010. Today we did a 1.14 mile walk in the Old Village. We saw the Confederate Cemetary. It was fun jumping in the puddles!

09/04/2010. My brother and I walked 1 mile on Dewees Island.

09/19/2010. 2 mile walk over the downtown bridge, we saw dolphins catching fish in the water below. I took the pictures of the bridge (except the one of me!). I am using my Dads GPS watch so we know how far we have gone.

09/17/2010. 1 mile walk around the rookery near our school in Ion, we saw a 5' rattle snake!

09/12/2010. 2 mile walk at Palmetto Park off Long Point Rd, Mt Pleasant. We saw 4 crabs.
